What is a mystery shopper?
A mystery shopper is an individual who visits a place of business, posing as
a typical customer for the purpose of gathering information needed for the
evaluation of all areas of the business operation. Examples of these include
customer service, locations, sales, food quality, etc. Following specific
instructions of a "check list" that has been previously studied,
the shopper enters the establishment and gathers all the information
required. After leaving, the shopper completes the check list and the
"shop" is complete.
"Shoppers" are typical customers that provide information to assist our
clients in
analyzing their particular operation from the customer's perspective. It is
not our
intent to catch any staff member doing something inappropriate. However, it
is our
intent to provide factual information toward the improvement of customer
service.
Therefore, shoppers are the "eyes of the customer."
What kind of person makes a good mystery shopper?
A good mystery shopper is a person who is honest, observant,
detailed-oriented,
efficient, accurate and can commit to and meet deadlines.
PLEASE NOTE: This is neither a full-time nor a
part-time job -- it is a way to earn a little extra money at, hopefully,
doing something you enjoy -- SHOPPING!

Once you are entered into our SCS Shopper Database, you will be given a SCS
Shopper #, which you must include in all correspondence with this office.
You will be receiving regular emails announcing what shops we have in your
general area. Then you will need to access the assignment board on the web
site and request any assignments you would like to perform. We fill these
shops on a first come, first serve basis so please check your email
regularly.
